Frequently Asked Questions
Q:
How do I upload a picture to the boards?
A:
The boards, themselves, do not allow for uploading anything but your avatar. Many of us use Photobucket. Others use Imageshack.

After uploading your image to one of these or similar, you can post the image by putting it's address between image tags: [img][/img]. If you want to share the image, but only as an address, you can put it between site tags: [url][/url].

Q:
How do I turn my character into a god?
A:
Uh, yeah...that's the beauty of Town. There's no rules. If you want a character to be a god, it's a god. Though it doesn't mean much to most of us until you have some PC followers. And not your own characters.

Q:
Do I have to know anything about D&D?
A:
No. Though some characters use D&D spells, they usually provide an explanation of the spell from the SRD, and if they don't, you can ask for an explanation via PM.

Q:
What is 'deadtime'?
A:
Deadtime is what happens to characters when their players go offline. They are usually frozen, and others can't interact with them. (Unless a person is given permission to take over the character while the player is gone.) This can affect a plot if the player's character is necessary in said plot. (Or if they're the one running the plot.)

Q:
How does the passage of time work in Town?
A:
Though some people play to real time timeframes, the passage of time is very flexible in Town. A character can perform actions that might take only a few seconds over a few Real Time days, or they could do an hour's worth of different actions. The main things affecting time are how often players reply to each other, and how much they do in a single post. In all, it's up to you, and what's convenient for your plot.
